Mr Asser Nangolo
Mr Asser Nangolo completed his Master of Disaster Management at DiMTEC, University of The Free State, South Africa. Before his study at DiMTEC he obtained a National diploma in Human Resources at Namibia University of science and Technology (NUST) as well as an advanced diploma (Hons) in Project Management at International Commercial Management.
Mr Nangolo worked in the emergency services and disaster management field for 12 years. He is currently a sub officer of Operation at the Emergencies Services division for the City of Windhoek, Namibia. During his career and studies he gained extensive knowledge on disaster management principles, disaster and emergency preparedness as well as mitigation.
He also applied practical applications of different conceptual frameworks and models on vulnerability and resilience that enhanced his knowledge on environmental risk and impact assessment.
Throughout his long service at the City of Windhoek he was part of various disaster preparedness activities, mitigation as well as projects meant at building resilience within the city.
Mr Nangolo believes that a successful disaster management can be well accomplished through continuously multi-sectorial practice across all developmental disciplines during planning and implementation phases. Therefore, networking of experts is very fundamental at International, national and regional levels.
